I am Ruth Wilson owner of Ishop Posh. I am a Serial Entrepreneur, Wife, Mom & Survivor. Placed in Foster care at the tender age of 6, I quickly learned I had to grow up fast. Through a series of devastating events; molestation, domestic violence, and infidelity, I developed thick skin. It was the love of fashion that saved my life.
Fashion, Art & Music have always been my passion since I was very young. My father & mother had an infinite appetite for the arts. I could remember my father taking me from store to store singing songs like Ottis Reddings “Sitting at the dock of the bay” and crowds gathering around him. My mom in her own right is a gifted fashion illustrator, singer and songwriter. This desire drove her to place me into talent show where I was singing, modeling and acting. One of my fondest memories, I have of my mother is watching her sketch fashion design after fashion design.
I began signing songs before I could read and write. Music was my safe haven that got me through the years without my parents.
My journey has been long and difficult but God has blessed me abundantly. In my spare time, I enjoy servicing the community, and giving back through my non profit- Building Foundations Together INC. I one day dream to be able to help foster kids with education assistance and scholarships for college. Also, to provide them counseling and support that I never received when I was in foster care.
Thank you for stopping by my shop. I choose pieces for the everyday working women to transition from day to night.
